Independent offline fieldbook
Foothill
Signal
Practice care. Build trust. Support readiness. One hundred app-authored field cards move from specific appreciation and fair process to ordinary household preparation.
CUT 01 · PURPOSE
Support begins with what we can actually practice
Foothill Signal is proposed independent educational software. Its scenes, reflections, and exercises are app-authored; they are not descriptions of official organization, police, city, emergency-management, school, library, or 911 programs.
CUT 02 · APPRECIATION
Name the helpful action
Specific thanks can recognize patience, preparation, clarity, accessibility, or care without slogans, private details, or turning one person into a symbol.
CUT 03 · FAIR PROCESS
Trust leaves room for voice
Ordinary scenarios invite readers to notice who can speak, which rule is visible, how a choice is explained, and when an initial impression deserves another look.
CUT 04 · LISTEN FIRST
A pause can widen the path
Open questions, first-person statements, reflection, silence, and a clear next step make space for a different view while protecting private details.
CUT 06 · READINESS
Preparation is an ordinary household practice
Fictional scenarios cover meeting relationships, communication, pets, access needs, smoke, weather, earthquakes, power loss, and reunification questions. Real plans belong with the household and current official guidance.
CUT 07 · CALM LEARNING
Learn the shape of a real emergency call without placing one
The app teaches general call literacy with blank devices and fictional facts. It cannot call, connect to dispatch, store an address, or simulate an official emergency interface.
CUT 08 · YOUNG BUILDERS
Small projects stay guided, permitted, and private
Adult-guided service-learning cards favor safe tools, permission, a modest scope, reflection, and equal agency. They never recruit for an organization or ask children to document other people.
CUT 09 · LOCAL STATE
Two quiet flags, no personal notebook
The Android app stores only the IDs of field cards marked Practiced or Revisit in private app preferences on the device. The two choices are mutually exclusive and can be cleared at any time.
CUT 10 · SOURCES & BOUNDARIES
Local artifacts do not imply official approval
The shipped app and this static site describe a proposed independent product. They do not establish organization approval, public-agency endorsement, publisher authority, Play approval, live hosting, or public availability.
